Are You in it to Sell Insurance Or Build a Business?

Some people get the insurance to buy themselves a job. When unemployment rises and face extreme competition for each job you apply for … the idea of a job for yourself seems a good option. Others want a job they want selling a business. The agents who want a sales job, representatives of the insurance companies they sign with. If you choose the representative route you: Buy yourself a good headset because you need to buy a lot of cold calls a high quality pair of comfortable shoes, because you need to pound the pavement Toughen up your skin and thin guard your glass jaw, because you are going to get much resistance and rejection. This is a tough sales job. You can expect a lot of hard work with little reward for your efforts. If you expect the insurance company to provide you with the marketing plans and tools you need to succeed you will be very disappointed. If the tools provided by the insurance worked properly you would not expect that 85% of new agents fail to see their first 18 months, but they do. By the time most representatives figure out the things they told you will work it's usually too late. However, you may be different. You can resolve, perseverance and tenacity to beat the odds. Others enter the insurance, because they do not want a job. They want a company that provides them today and every day their future. They want the financial security and personal freedom business ownership can bring. For that dream a reality you need to successfully address and respond to the push-back: I already have an agent. I'm not interested. I do not have these costs at this time. to overcome and remove the push-back you need to: Communicate what is unique or special about how you help people get what they want Give your potential customers a reason to be interested in what you can help them get help prospects see you sell if the investment needed for the solution, results, or result they are already looking for.
